we were at tom and chantal’s last night – reed had just lost a ring behind his dresser when we walked in and was upset – tom helped him get it out and told me that reed got it to marry someone, T said he had to make sure he picked a pretty girl to marry. and apparently reed had picked out meredith! I did not leave that boys side for about an hour, but he got shy and had daddy hold the ring for him. On our way to play in the basement, he told me that his daddy married his mommy, and that he was going to marry meredith – so cute. Finally it was bedtime and they were all playing in TC’s bed and Reed got up the nerve to pop the question. He showed the ring to meredith, she said it was pretty, he said it was for her, she said thank you, he said it was so she could marry him, she said BLECH! married, yuck. (and poor reed almost cried when we all laughed at her.) It’s all good though – they’re still friends!
Someone mentioned to Paige that maybe she could marry reed – she said she couldn’t, ‘she hadn’t picked who she was going to marry yet, she didn’t know who her wife was’. Awesome!
Today we were looking at Meredith’s skeleton book from the library (so proud of my peanut) and had to explain the piece hanging between the legs of the skeleton is no that little thing boys have – it was a tail bone – which was almost as funny as a penis. (told her a couple minutes later what a penis was – she wasn’t terribly impressed) – funny side note – Reed thinks girls poop out of their vaginas – so no hope for grandchildren on that front! (he also thinks if he smacks his own bum while trying to pee – it will help get the pee out (and he does this regularly – freaking funny kid!)
Anyway, while looking at bones, Paige explains that bones are hard – not like hair – she rubs her hair in her fingers and says see… then knocks her forehead with her fist and explains that when you hit bones, you can hear a song.
