Crabapples
and they really do not look like crabapples... but this tree has another branch that does have regular crabapples, so I have decided that these are chokecherries, and some bird just pooped them really really close to the real crab apple tree.

it bloomed - finally - few weeks ago! not for Ukrainian Xmas and not quite valentines day - maybe it was groundhog day... anyway - yay! pretty.

so... the first time we drove by, there was great rim light - just a glow around the horses, so i made ryan turn around - cause he never stops exactly when i need him too! and by the time we got back, the rim was fading and now there was a steaming pile of poop - nice.

taking some pictures while Meredith was waiting for the bus the other day...
the same day we saw 'turkeys' in the neighbour's yard (right in the middle of the picture below). they are actually turkey vultures, i think, but do we really want Meredith going to school talking about the turkeys she saw, or the vultures she saw - I like my illusions.

We have a gardening book, that suggests that if you have a garden with wide rows and paths, that kids and dogs will naturally want to follow the paths - HA - obviously never encountered my kids or my DOGS
...or apparently my baby birds.
